Okay Mexican...
I was really excited to try el Canelo because Buffalo could use more Mexican resteraunts that don't consist of fast food (seriously, is Mighty Taco even Mexican??? - if you wanna call it that). Anyway, I was a little disapointed after my trip. Yeah, the chips and salsa were good, but the place kinda stunk like lysol covering up a musty old place and just seemed dirty (you know, the old sticky table and booth syndrome). This in particular turned off my wife. The service was good, considering we were the only patrons in the place at the time. I thought the food was okay - but also pretty bland. I also didn't feel the portion was all that much for the price.

All in all it's an okay place to get some Mexican, as long as you or your significant other doesn't mind eating at a dive.

Pros: Chips & Salsa, decent home made style food
Cons: Cleanliness, ambiance, presentation, lack of real flavor in food ie spices
